Thai trader bludgeoned to death by worker

MARANG: A 35-year-old Thai trader was found dead in a pool of blood at her house in Kampung Che Lijah, Binjai Rendah yesterday.

Police said the victim, identified as Hayitiyoh@Saripah, was believed to have been bludgeoned to death by her worker with a wooden rod.

The murder weapon was later found in the dustbin.

Her other worker found her remains, with serious head and facial injuries, in the kitchen at 7.30pm.

State Criminal and Investigation Department chief Assistant Commissioner Wan Abdul Aziz Wan Hamzah said police are looking for a 21-year-old Thai national, Apree@ Apri Mamat@ Awi.

He was last seen riding the victim's red Honda EX5 bearing registration number, TBK 2489.

Abdul Aziz said a tip off revealed the suspect was heading towards East Coast Expressway 2 (LPT2).

He said checks showed the attack happened after the suspect’s repeated request for money was denied by the victim.

"The victim was staying with two of her workers in the house. Her body has been sent to the Sultanah Nur Zahirah Hospital for post mortem," he said.

The case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.
