Four killed, two seriously injured, when lorry slams into MPV at NKVE

KUALA LUMPUR: Four people were killed and two others seriously injured in a horrific crash at Km16.7 of the New Klang Valley Expressway (NKVE) early this morning.

The incident occurred at 1.45am when a 10-tonne lorry suddenly swerved to avoid a car which had sustained a punctured tyre in the middle lane.

The out-of-control lorry then crashed through a road barrier before ramming into a Toyota Innova, carrying six people, in the opposite lane.

The driver of the Innova and three passengers, aged between 32 and 52, were killed on the scene.

Two other passengers survived with serious injuries and were rushed to the Sungai Buloh hospital.

Selangor Fire and Rescue Department assistant director of operations Mohd Sani Harul said his department received a call on the incident at 1.58am and 10 firemen from Damansara station were deployed to the scene.

It is learnt that the driver of the lorry was not at the scene, as he is believed to have been sent to a private hospital for treatment.
