JB assistant land officer remanded for corruption

JOHOR BARU: An assistant land officer at the Johor Baru Land and District Office has been remanded for six days in connection with a corruption case.

The remand order was issued by Sessions Court assistant registrar Norhidayah Abd Manaf, following a request by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC).

The case is being investigated under Section 23 of the MACC Act 2009 for misusing a position.

The accused, who is in his 50s, arrived at court at about 10.37 am wearing an orange MACC lockup uniform.

It was reported that the MACC arrested the accused at the Johor MACC office at about 2 pm yesterday.
