K-pop fans, rejoice

AS the Hallyu wave prepares to take the world by storm once again, K-pop aficionados have a reason to rejoice as their favourite acts will be performing their hits at the 18th Mnet Asian Music Awards (MAMA).

The event is happening today at the AsiaWorld-Expo Arena, Hong Kong. Fans can watch this event streamed live via tonton (www.tonton.com.my) from 5pm. 8TV will air a delayed broadcast of the show at 9.30pm.

Meanwhile on Saturday, catch up on celebrity gossip on Koffee With Karan on Tara HD at 8pm tomorrow. The show, hosted by film producer and director Karan Johar promises to bring you a hotter-than-ever season, packed with the biggest A-list celebrities of Bollywood. The Rapid Fire round will make its appearance once again, accompanied by the inaugural Koffee Quiz.

If you are a fan of American comedy, catch Crazy Ex-Girlfriend on StarWorld at 9pm tomorrow and watch Rebecca Bunch getting a little closer on the road to finding happiness. Brittany Snow from Pitch Perfect plays a hip and cool Los Angeles beauty entrepreneur.

And if you are a romance comedy fan, TV2 is airing Yes Man at 10.30pm tomorrow. Carl, a loan officer, has become withdrawn since his divorce. He has a negative outlook on life and routinely ignores friends Pete and Rooney. Playing Carl is funnyman Jim Carrey. Fionnula Flanagan, John Michael and Zooey Deschanel also star.

Cuddle up with your family members to watch Top Cat Begins on Fox Family Movies HD at 8pm on Sunday. This computer-animated comedy starring voice actors Darin De Paul, Ben Diskin and Marieve Herington tells of Top Cat, a sad and lonely cat, until he meets kind Benny. The pair quickly become partners in crime. When they steal from a New York henchman, trouble ensues.

The sequel to Batman Begins gets bigger and badder with the introduction of the Joker, hauntingly portrayed by the late Heath Ledger, in The Dark Knight,on HBO and HBO HD at 9pm. It also stars Hollywood heavyweights Christian Bale and Morgan Freeman.

Animal Planet and Discovery Channel present Huntwatch at 9.55pm on Sunday. Narrated by actor Ryan Reynolds, this documentary highlights the history of the Canadian commercial seal hunt. Almost stopped by the International Fund for Animal Welfare, fur products and government subsidies keep the hunt alive.

Meanwhile, on TV2 at 11pm on Sunday, catch Malay drama Asparagus which tells the story of Kartina, a divorcee who is attracted to a younger man. Her two friends, Zalikha and Mona, are also as much of a cougar as she is. Starring heartthrob Fattah Amin, Jasmin Hamid and Zila Bakarin.
