50 drug-addicted Kedah policemen join drugs rehabilitation programme

ALOR SETAR: Fifty policemen of various ranks from Kedah are undergoing the 'My To Indah' programme, a drugs rehabilitation treatment organised by the Bukit Aman Police.

Kedah police chief Datuk Asri Yusoff said the policemen, aged between 25 and 40, are among 883 drug addicts from across the country taking part in the programme.

He said the policemen, who were attached with various departments, including criminal investigation and narcotics, are voluntarily taking part in My To Indah.

"(It) is like the methadone programme and Inabah rehabilitation for the public," he told reporters here yesterday.

He added that the programme also aims at getting the policemen free from drugs so that they can carry out their duties with dedication. - Bernama
