PUTRAJAYA: Tan Sri Dr Zulhasnan Rafique has been appointed as the new Malaysian ambassador to United States, replacing Datuk Dr Awang Adek Hussin.
Prior to his appointment, Zulhasnan has served as the Federal Territories minister from 2006 to 2009 and Federal Territories deputy minister from 2004 to 2006, the Foreign Ministry said in a statement today.
"He was also Wangsa Maju and Setiawangsa member of parliament from 1999 to 2004, and 2004 to 2013, respectively," it added.
The ministry said Zulhasnan has been serving as the chancellor of Geomatika University College since 2014.
