PORT KLANG: The number of victims injured in a firework explosion during a New Year’s celebration at Pandamaran Complex here early this morning has increased to ten.
The latest information received from the Selangor Fire and Rescue Department states that seven of the victims sustained burn injuries to their legs and were treated by paramedics at the scene.
Three others, including one man who was injured on the head, were rushed to the Tengku Ampuan Rahimah Hospital in Klang.
Meanwhile, videos of the incident have surfaced online and gone viral on social media.
Several video clips shared on Facebook show thousands of New Year revellers at the complex cheering when fireworks display was set off at midnight.
However, the situation turned chaotic moments later when the fireworks exploded towards the audience, sending revellers running for safety.
