Rela on aid mission to flood-ravaged east coast

PUTRAJAYA: Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi today flagged off People's Volunteer Corps (Rela)'s flood aid mission programme to the east coast.

The flood-aid mission convoy started its journey to Kelantan and Terengganu today and would distribute aid comprised daily basic neccessities including food items and hygiene packs.

Zahid said the convoy would be on standby mode to assist other states during the monsoon season.

"We encourage the public to come forward with their support and contributions to help the flood victims," he said.

Earlier, Zahid said the Home Ministry would have additional 16 key performance indicators this year, from 22 last year to 38.

"We aim to secure better results this year in meeting our KPIs this year.

"We have scored 123 per cent from 22 KPIs last year. The ministry should target to score 138 per cent from the 38 KPIs set for this year." he said.
