LIMBANG: Netizens have expressed dismay over images of a dog here subjected to abuse, which have gone viral on social media.
Images of the dog, tied to the rear of a lorry and dragged down what is believed to be Jalan Pandaruan here, surfaced in several Facebook postings recently, triggering the wrath of many animal lovers.
A police report has been lodged against the lorry driver by a man from Kuching, who saw the social media post.
Limbang district police chief Deputy Superintendent Abang Zainal Abidin Abang Ahmad said police are in the midst of tracking down the owner and driver of the lorry featured in the pictures.
He said the case will be investigated under Sarawak’s Cruelty to Animals (Prevention) Ordinance 1963.
