KUALA LUMPUR: Fire broke out at a building under construction at Jalan Raja Alang, Kampung Baru, here today.
The fire was believed to have started on the 17th floor of the building. It then spread to the 27th floor through the elevator shaft.
However, no casualties reported.
City Fire and Rescue Department chief operations officer Samsol Maarif Saibani said the department were alerted to the fire at 7.44pm.
The team, comprising firefighters from the Hang Tuah, Titiwangsa, Gombak and Sentul fire stations, brought the fire under control at 9pm.
"Based on our initial investigations, construction materials such as wood and PVC pipes that were on the 25th, 26th and 27th floor were on fire.
"The cause of the fire is still under investigation," he said.
