New Sarawak CM to maintain state cabinet line-up

PETRA JAYA: There are no changes in the Majlis Mesyuarat Kerajaan Negeri line-up under new Chief Minister Datuk Amar Abang Abdul Rahman Zohari Abang Openg.

A state lawmaker was quoted as saying Abdul Rahman Zohari is maintaining the same structure for the Majlis Mesyuarat Kerajaan Negeri, which he inherited from his predecessor, the late Tan Sri Adenan Satem.

This leaves one of the three deputy Chief Minister's post, which was previously held by Abdul Rahman Zohari, vacant.

"(The) state cabinet remains status quo. However, wait for the announcement by the chief minister later," said a state minister when met after the swearing-in ceremony of Members of the Supreme Council and the Assistant State Minister in the state government here today.

Leading the swearing-in ceremony earlier, before Yang di-Pertua Negeri Sarawak Tun Abdul Taib Mahmud, were Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Douglas Uggah Embas, followed by State Second Finance Minister Datuk Seri Wong Soon Koh and State Youth and Sport sand Solidarity Minister, Datuk Seri Michael Manyin Jawong.
