Rosmah visits flood evacuees at T'ganu relief centre

SETIU: The Prime Minister’s wife, Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor, spared time from her busy schedule to visit with flood victims at a school-cum relief centre here.

Rosmah, who is also chairman of Badan Amal dan Kebajikan Tenaga Isteri-isteri Menteri dan Timbalan Menteri (Bakti), engaged warmly with the victims at Sekolah Kebangsaan Pelong, in Langkap, for about 30 minutes.

She expressed concern for the evacuees’ wellbeing and welfare, before handing out survival kits to 457 victims of the floods, which have inundated several parts of Terengganu.

Earlier, Rosmah was given a briefing on the flood situation by the Civil Defence Force.

Present was Terengganu Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Ahmad Razif Abdul Rahman.

Meanwhile, Langkap assemblyman Datuk Sabri Mohd Noor said that the floods, the worst since 1986, had caused damage estimated at RM50,000 – and an immediate assistance of RM11,000 had been handed out to worst-affected victims.
