(Badminton) Sze Fei-Nur Izzuddin bask in the spotlight as they reach Msia Masters semis

SIBU: Goh Sze Fei-Nur Izzuddin Rumsani produced another superb performance to reach their maiden GP Gold semi-finals at the Malaysia Masters today.

In the absence of their more well known teammates - Goh V Shem-Tan Wee Kiong and Ong Yew Sin-Teo Ee Yi - Sze Fei-Nur Izzuddin took full advantage of the home support as they rallied on to beat Hong Kong's Mak Hee Chun-Tam Chun Hei 22-20, 21-16 in the quarter-finals at the Sibu Indoor Stadium

Sze Fei-Nur Izzudin, who appeared to revel in the spotlight, take on Indonesia's Hendra Aprida Gunawan-Markis Kido next for a place in the final.

In the women's doubles, Lim Yin Loo-Yap Cheng Wen continued their fine run when they saw off Singapore's Tan Wei Han-Crystal Wong 21-11, 21-11 to book their place in the last four stage.

Yin Loo-Cheng Wen who were only paired in May last year, play Hong Kong's Poon Lok Yan-Tse Ying Suet next for a place in the final.

In the mixed doubles, Tan Kian Meng-Lai Pei Jing lived up to their billing as second seeds, marching into the semi-finals following a 21-19, 21-16 win over Hong Kong's Tang Chun Man-Tse Ying Suet in the quarter-finals.

The national No 2 play another Hong Kong pair Tam Chun Hei-Ng Tsz Yau next.
