SHAH ALAM: The New Straits Times Press (NSTP) bagged four awards in the Selangor State Development Corporation (PKNS) media night, today.

Harian Metro reporter Mazizul Dani won first place in the Best Sports Reporting category for his article titled "Layan pemain macam famili".

Coming in second was New Straits Times sports reporter Ajitpal Singh for his article titled "PKNS cool despite tough odds".

Both took home a plaque and a certificate.

Meanwhile, under the Best Photography Award, the first and third spots were won by NSTP photographers Muhammad Sulaiman and Abdullah Mohd Yusof.

PKNS chief executive officer Noraida Mohd Yusof, who presented the award, said the media play an important role in society as they help shape the way people think, on top of influencing society.

"The best medium to appreciate the media is through an award function such as this. Besides the award, PKNS hosted the event with an aim to strengthen the ties and also see how can we expand ideas in the property industry," she said in her speech.

At the event, 15 journalists and photographers of various publications were awarded for their achievements.
