BACHOK: Two Tahfiz students are feared drowned after they went missing while swimming with five friends at Pantai Kampung Nipah here today.
Bachok district police chief DSP Nik Aminuddin Raja Abdullah said the missing students were Ilham Mohd Hafiz and Mohd Aiman Che Hashim, both 15, of Maahad Tahfiz Sains Al-Muhammadi, Kampung Nipah.
They are believed to have been swept away by strong currents in the 3.30pm incident, he said.
The two friends had gone swimming with five other students of Maahad Tahfiz Sains Al-Muhammadi.
The five friends, however, were rescued by passersby.
Nik Aminuddin said a search and rescue operation has been mounted for the missing students. -- BERNAMA
