KUALA LUMPUR: A man is believed to have shot his ex-wife dead before training the gun on himself, taking his own life in a horrific incident at a law firm in Menara Centara, Jalan Chow Kit, this afternoon.
The incident is believed to have taken place at the 16th floor of the building at 3pm today.
Police have yet to confirm the details of the incident, and have remained tight-lipped so far as to what had transpired.
Dang Wangi district deputy police chief Superintendent Habibi Majinji said they were alerted to a situation at the location around 3pm and dispatched a team.
“Preliminary investigations show that a shooting incident took place at the 16th floor, involving a man and a woman.
“Further investigations are being done to establish the motive behind the killings,” he said.
The office’s occupants have been told to temporarily vacate the premises to enable investigators to conduct their probe. A large crowd has gathered at the ground floor of the building.
Also spotted outside the building entrance were two women, believed to be family members of the victims.
The woman were crying and demanded to be let in, but were placated by the policemen. One of the women later fainted.
