Jong-nam assassination discussed at high-level ministerial meeting

PUTRAJAYA: The assassination plot involving Kim Jong-nam, was discussed at a high-level ministerial meeting here today.

Jong-nam, the half-brother of North Korean leader Kim Jong-un, was reportedly killed by two female North Korean operatives, at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport 2 (klia2) on Monday.

Well-placed sources told the New Straits Times that the case was explained in detail at the meeting.

According to South Korean intelligence, Jong-nam had been living with his second wife in Macau, prior to the incident. It is believed that the 46-year-old has another wife and son in Beijing.

CCTV cameras at klia2 reportedly captured a grainy image of a woman, believed to be one of his assassins. She was spotted wearing a top with the word “LOL” in large letters and a blue short skirt, with her right hand holding a small handbag.

Jong-nam was approached by the women before he could pass through immigration checks at KLIA2 on Monday morning.

He was due to board a flight to Macau when he was poisoned.

After complaining to airport staff of dizziness, Jong-nam was rushed to the Putrajaya Hospital, but died en route.
