KUALA LUMPUR: Four men, including a policeman, claimed trial in the sessions court here yesterday to robbing a Bangladeshi man.
The four accused are Lance corporal Mohd Syakiran Shaari, 25; two security van drivers, Sharull Salleh, 32, and Mohd Fahmi Azman, 29; and garment vendor, Muhammad Irqbalshah Mhd Jantan, 26.
They allegedly robbed Azizur Rahman Samsul Huda, 24, of RM820 at Jalan 7/23E, Taman Danau Kota Setapak, Wangsa Maju here at 6.30am on Nov 13, 2016.
The charge, under Section 395 of the Penal Code, read with Section 34 of the same Code, carries a maximum jail term of 20 years and possible whipping on conviction.
Judge Rohatul Akmar Abdullah did not grant bail and set March 15 for remention.
Deputy public prosecutor Norazlin Mohamad Yusoff appeared for the prosecution, while counsel Nur Fadhilah Zahari represented Mohd Syakiran and Muhammad Irqbalshah. Sharull and Mohd Fahmi were unrepresented. -- BERNAMA
