Bring back glory days

Will the Selangor football team rise to become a force again in Malaysian football? Will we see the Red Giants winning games, titles and cups the way they did before?

The fans are desperate to see the team winning honours. In recent years, other state teams have taken the shine off Selangor.

This has not gone down well with fans and supporters of the Red and Yellow. Teams go through good and bad patches, but Selangor fans do not totally subscribe to this.

Hence, all eyes are now on Datuk Seri Subahan Kamal, 52, a businessman, and his team of new committee members to restore the pride of Selangor football.

Expectations are high. Fans want quick results. They have four years to prove what they can do.

With good planning, professional execution and political-free decision-making, Selangor can rise again.

The new line-up includes several businessmen. It is hoped that they will infuse a serious business-like approach into Selangor football, on and off the pitch.

Bringing back the glory days cannot be done overnight. The new executive council has four years to do its job and prove its worth. I believe there’s a lot to do. So, better hurry!
