MARAN: A man was arrested last week over a series of house break-ins and vehicle theft cases in the district.
The 32-year-old man, who has an extensive criminal record, was nabbed in a police raid at a house in Kampung Paya Ladang, Chenor here on Feb 22.
District police chief Superintendent Mazlan Hassan said the raiding team found the man in possession of two cars, a motorcycle, a television set, a washing machine, a lawn mower, an electric chainsaw, among other stolen items.
"Urine test results showed that the man was free from drugs. He is currently under a remand order, beginning Feb 23, that was issued by the Maran magistrate's court," said Mazlan.
He added that the matter was being investigated under Sections 457 and 379(A) of the Penal Code.
Section 457 deals with house-breaking while Section 379(A) is in relation to theft of a vehicle.
