The equipment at this playground in Taman Enyum Indah, Arau, Perlis, is new, but children have been barred from entering by parents.
Residents of the husing estate said the playground had become a perfect breeding ground for snakes and wondered why it had been left untouched for a long time.
ʻThe Kangar Municipal Council should send workers to clean up the place as the children are deprived of a place to play in the evening,ʼ said a resident who declined to be named.
ʻKangar is not that big to maintain. We have seen snakes slithering away and that is why we forbid our children from going there,ʼ she said.
