Shah Alam brothers crossing railway track hit, killed by KTM Komuter train

SHAH ALAM: Two brothers were killed when they were hit by a KTM Komuter train while crossing a railway track in Padang Jawa, here yesterday.

The incident took place at 6.21pm near Padang Jawa KTM station's pedestrian overhead bridge when Sabiran Musa, 40, and his 36-year-old brother, Nizam Ridzuan, decided to cross the railway tracks, unaware of the oncoming train.

Both men were killed on the spot.

Shah Alam district police chief Assistant Commissioner Shafien Mamat said initial investigation revealed that the siblings, who helped their father sell chicken for a living, were heading to a grocery shop when they crossed the track.

"The victims, both still single, lived near the railway track.

“They were crossing the track at Km29.514 when a commuter train heading towards Klang from Kuala Lumpur hit them," Shafien said.

He added that the victims' remains were sent to the Tengku Ampuan Rahimah Hospital for post mortems.
