Mass exodus of DAP members no surprise, thanks to 'Lim dynasty'

ALOR STAR: The mass exodus involving 182 DAP members in Malacca comes as no shock as the party's grassroots can no longer stand the Lim father-and-son brand of leadership.

MCA president Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai said it would not come as a surprise if more DAP members were to walk away from the party as they are frustrated with the leaders' failure to listen to their voices.

"DAP is all about Lim Kit Siang and his son Guan Eng. They are not listening to what the grassroots are saying.

"They are ruling the party with an iron fist and oppressing the members," he told reporters after attending the Road Safety Council 58th Annual General Meeting here today.

Liow, who is also the Transport Minister, was commenting on the mass exit by 182 DAP members in Malacca yesterday.

The move was announced by ex-Malacca DAP deputy chairman Liou Chen Kuang, who was among the DAP members who decided to resign from the party.

In the press conference, Liou said the decision was made after taking into consideration the party's approach and handling of the resignation of their four former Malacca DAP stalwarts last month.

Liow meanwhile added that DAP has no clear political direction when it decided to work with other parties, which is being done just for the sake of the leaders political survival , which explains the members' eroding faith in the party.
