KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak said Malaysia's economy is growing at an encouraging pace, with efforts underway to make it even more robust.
In his Facebook post today, Najib uploaded pictures of him being briefed by Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) governor Datuk Muhammad Ibrahim, in the presence of Second Finance Minister Datuk Seri Johari Abdul Ghani, Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Datuk Seri Abdul Rahman Dahlan and Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Dr Ali Hamsa, among others.
"I received a briefing on the country's latest economic development by BNM. Alhamdulillah (praise Allah), the statistics presented showed encouraging numbers. “There are also several indicators showing that some improvements are needed, and we will increase our efforts as well as focus in those sectors," he said.
Najib added that during the briefing, Malaysia’s economic policies and the foundations of the country’s economic structure were also discussed.
