BEAUFORT: A man reported missing yesterday was found drowned in a river at Kampung Klias here this morning.
The body of Mohd Suhaizam Abdul Ghapar, 28, was found in the river at around 10am today.
District police chief Deputy Superintendent Azmir Abd Razak said the victim had gone out yesterday morning, but failed to return home.
"His family members lodged a police report as they were worried, and even started searching for him.
"Initial investigation rules out any foul play, but we will carry out a thorough probe," Azmir said, adding that the body was sent to the district hospital for a post-mortem.
He said that the case is being classified as sudden death.
