Opening of Hilton Kota Kinabalu indicates investors' confidence: Musa Aman

KOTA KINABALU: The opening the Hilton Kota Kinabalu here is a testament of investors’ confidence in Sabah.

Chief Minister Datuk Seri Musa Aman said the presence of this highly reputable global chain, Hilton Hotels and Resorts, is a great complement to the state’s growth.

With the opening of a Hilton hotel here, this makes it the ninth Hilton in Malaysia.

“As Sabah continues to grow as a popular tourist destination, I am confident that tourist arrival figures will continue to increase in the years to come.

“This also means more hotels are needed to accommodate the increasing number of visitors. The opening of Hilton Kota Kinabalu with its 305-room capacity is indeed timely.

“This hotel has all the attributes for success with its strategic location in the city and the latest facilities that create ease for both business and leisure travellers,” he said during the launch event tonight.

Musa also called on hotels and resorts in Sabah to find their own niche and offer something different for their guests.

This will raise the bar on standards so that guests will not only return to Sabah but to their premise.

“Make use of feedback that guests send you to update your services and to cater to the needs of your target market.

“Sabah is known for its biodiversity, clean environment and nature-based destinations, and I would like to urge resort and hotel operators to be mindful of the need to implement policies that will support this,” he added.
