Man killed when struck by log in freak T'ganu factory accident

HULU TERENGGANU: A 56-year-old lorry driver was killed instantly when he was struck by a log at a plywood factory in Ajil here today.

The victim, Azman Aziz, from Bandar Warisan Puteri, Seremban, Negri Sembilan, suffered serious head and bodily injuries in the 8.40am incident at the Latitude Tree factory.

"The victim was in the process of transferring logs to the factory from his lorry when the incident took place," said District police chief Deputy Superintendent Mohd Adli Mat Daud.

"The factory’s 48-year-old supervisor lodged a report at the Ajil police station on the incident," he added.

Azman’s remains were sent to the Hulu Terengganu Hospital for a post mortem.

Police are classifying the incident as a case as sudden death.
