Musa Aman sends condolences to family of late Tungku assemblyman

KOTA KINABALU: Chief Minister Datuk Seri Musa Aman has extended his condolences to the family of Tungku assemblyman Datuk Mohd Suhaili Said, who passed away today.

Musa, who is also Sabah Umno liaison chief, said Suhaili was a dedicated leader and that his sudden death was a great loss to state.

“On behalf of the state government of Sabah Umno and Barisan Nasional as well as my family, I would like to express my condolences to the family.

“We are saddened by the death of a comrade, who had been very committed and dedicated in carrying out tasks entrusted to him, either in the party or the government,” he said in a statement.

Musa joined several Umno division leaders in performing Tahlil prayers for the late Suhaili, who was also Umno Silam deputy chief and Sabah Religious Council chairman.

Suhaili died at about 3.10pm after being warded at the Gleneagles Hospital in Kuala Lumpur on March 21.

He is survived by his wife Datin Dayang Sofia Datu Jamiuddin and their six children. He was 56.

His brother Muhamad Ghazali Said, when contacted, said Suhaili had a heart problem and often went to Kuala Lumpur for follow-up treatments.

“My sister-in-law and three of their children were by his side when he passed away,” he said.

The family is arranging for the burial at Tanah Perkuburan Islam Kampung Senangan in Tungku, Lahad Datu, tomorrow.
