Decision on Jong-nam's remains could be announced today: Health Ministry

BANGI: The Health Ministry’s decision on what to do with the remains of Kim Jong-nam, who was assassinated on Feb 13, could be announced as early as today.

Its minister, Datuk Seri Dr S. Subramaniam, said although discussions are ongoing with various parties, including Wisma Putra, the Prime Minister's department and North Korean, a decision should be reached very soon.

"The announcement could even come as early as today," he said after officiating the launch of the construction of a new building at SJK (T) Bangi, here today.

Subramaniam said whatever the decision may be, the investigation into the murder will continue.

Also present at the function was Deputy Education Minister Datuk P Kamalanathan, Deputy Youth and Sports Minister M Saravanan and Semenyih assemblyman and Selangor Umno secretary Datuk Johan Abdul Aziz.

On SJK (T) Bangi’s new building, Kamalanathan said the Education Ministry will assist with the setting up of a preschool there soon.

He assured that the ministry will provide necessary assistance in ensuring that a Tamil preschool is built under the vernacular schools revival programme.
