GEORGE TOWN: A man broke two automated teller machines (ATM) after he failed to withdraw money at a bank’s branch in Lintang Angsana, Bandar Baru here last night.
The man wearing a helmet and clad in a blue top and shorts was spotted arriving at the bank at about 11am.
Caught on the closed circuit television (CCTV), he was seen losing his cool a few minutes after he tried to withdraw money from both ATMs.
The footage then saw him using his helmet to smash the ATM screen multiple times until it cracked.
Northeast District Police Chief Assistant Commissioner Mior Farid Alathrash Wahid confirmed the incident and said that the case is being investigated under section 427 of the Penal Code for committing mischief.
