KUALA LUMPUR: A spirited Chan Peng Soon-Goh Liu Ying kept the Malaysian flag flying when they reached the semi-finals of the India Open on Friday.
The national No 1 mixed-doubles fought hard at the Siri Fort Indoor Stadium in New Delhi, before overcoming South Korea's Kim Gi Jung-Shin Seung Chan 22-20, 19-21, 21-15 in the quarter-finals.
The 2016 Rio Olympic Games silver medallists are up against top seeds Zheng Siwei-Chen Qingchen of China next.
There was no such luck, however, for men's doubles former world No 1 Goh V Shem-Tan Wee Kiong who crashed out in their second consecutive quarter-final this year.
To make things worse, V Shem-Wee Kiong once again fell short to China's Li Junhui-Liu Yuchen, the same pair that knocked the Malaysians out of the All England last month.
