KUCHING: It was a stroll in the park for world No 1 Lee Chong Wei who reached the quarter-finals of the Malaysia Open here without breaking a sweat.
Chong Wei, 35, who is gunning for his 12th Malaysia Open crown needed only 27 minutes to see off Hong Kong’s Hu Yun 21-8, 21-6 at the Perpaduan Stadium in Petra Jaya.
The three-time Olympic silver medallist will play South Korea’s Jeon Hyeok Jin who defeated France’s Brice Leverdez 21-13, 21-10 earlier, next.
Also through to the last eight is reigning Olympic champion Chen Long of China who beat his compatriot Huang Yuxiang 16-21, 21-18, 21-10 in the second round.
