Super League: Pahang down Kelantan, replaces Kedah at the top of the table

KUALA LUMPUR: Pahang knocked Kedah off the top of the Super League standings after coming from behind to defeat Kelantan 2-1 in Kota Baru on Saturday.

Kedah were held 1-1 by PKNS in Alor Star and dropped to second on goal difference behind Pahang, who have 19 points from nine games.

Selangor rose to third on 15 points after a 2-1 win over Sarawak in Selayang while Perak needed a penalty deep into stoppage-time to salvage a 2-2 draw with Kuala Terengganu T-Team.

Mohammed Ghaddar rocked Pahang with his 10th Super League goal of the season when he put Kelantan ahead after sprinting clear of the visitors' defence.

But two goals in three minutes turned the match around when Wan Zaharulnizam Wan Zakaria scored on the hour before Matheus Alves claimed his ninth league goal in the 62nd minute.

PKNS initially stunned the Darulaman Stadium crowd when Lucas Espindola struck in the 28th minute but Zachary Anderson extended Kedah's unbeaten run to 23 matches since last August with the equaliser eight minutes later.

Victor Astafei and Francis Doe put Selangor on the road to victory before Sarawak's Mateo Roskam pulled one back to set up a nervy finale.

T-Team were furious to have three points snatched from them when Aqil Irfanuddin Sabri was penalised for an innocuous handball in the box seven minutes into stoppage time with Hadi Yahaya converting the penalty for Perak in Ipoh.

Yashir Pinto gave Perak a 12th minute lead before Dilshod Sharofetdinov and Fakrurazi Musa scored in the second half for T-Team.

Champions Johor Darul Ta'zim host Malacca at Larkin on Sunday when Felda United receive Penang in Jengka.
