Two charged for stealing, possessing luxury car

PORT DICKSON: Two men have claimed trial at the magistrate’s court here yesterday for stealing and possessing a luxury car, among others.

The accused, Wong Yik Mun, 35, and Chan Yuk Ting, 26, pleaded not guilty after the charges were read separately before Magistrate Siti Khairiah Abdul Razak.

Wong was charged for invading a premise and stealing a Mercedes Benz E250, four watches and a mobile phone belonging to Ngooi Soo Hang, 45, at Bandar Dataran Segar here, at 10.55am on Apr 28.

Wong was charged under Section 457 of the Penal Code. He faces jail time of up to 14 years and a fine upon conviction.

Chan, meanwhile, was charged for receiving and possessing stolen property, including the Mercedes Benz E250 and three watches at a condominium at Bandar Damansara Perdana, Petaling Jaya, Selangor, at 10.30pm on April 29.

He was charged under Section 411 of the Penal Code which carries a jail term of between six months and five years and a fine, if convicted.

Deputy public prosecutor A. Ashwini prosecuted and the accused were not represented.

Siti Khairiah granted bail of RM4,800 for each of the accused and fixed June 19 for re-mention.
