17 illegal foreigners nabbed in Shah Alam massage parlour raid

SHAH ALAM: Seventeen illegal foreigners were arrested at a massage parlour in an ‘Ops Bersepadu’ operation conducted jointly by the Selangor Immigration Department and the Shah Alam City Council yesterday.

In the four-hour operation which began at 4pm, 32 enforcement officers nabbed one Bangladeshi man, 10 Indonesian women and six Vietnamese women for not having valid paperwork.

Selangor Immigration Department head of operations unit Jaimin Sumpit said the illegals, aged between 20 and 34, were arrested under Section 6 (1)(c) of the Immigration Act 1959/63.

He said the unnamed massage parlour, located on the first floor of a shoplot building, had been in operation for six months.

"After noticing our presence, the operator placed a sign saying that the massage parlour was closed on the front grille and simply relocated the business.

"We pretended to leave, but we used an alternative route to the massage parlour by climbing through the back of the premises.

"All of the women were found hiding in a room, and are believed to have been involved in immoral activities.

“The detained man was a guard at the premises and also doubled as the cashier," said Jaimin.
