Dungun police nab 2 two men peddling heroin, Eramine 5 by roadside

DUNGUN: Police on Sunday detained two suspected drug traffickers at separate locations here for possession of heroin and stimulant pills.

Police were first tipped-off to the activities of a 40-year-old man at the roadside of Felda Jerangau Peringkat Tiga here at 10.30am.

The man was inspected by policemen, who found a white powder, believed to be heroin, weighing 4.6gm in his sling bag.

They also found 20 Eramine 5 pills weighing 5.60gm.

According to District police chief Superintendent Ahmad Zailani Yaacub, the man has a criminal record involving a drug related offence under Section 12(2) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.

"He tested positive for drugs and is being investigated under Section 39A (1) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952 for trafficking," he added.

In the second raid, a 23-year-old man was detained at the roadside near Jalan Jerangau-Ajil at 4.30 pm.

Zailani said 40 Eramine 5 pills weighing 11.16gm were found on the man.

"The suspect was taken to the Dungun police station for further investigation. He also tested positive for methamphetamines," he added.

He is being held at the same station and will be investigated under Section 39 A(1) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
