Perak man murders gardener on suspicion of having affair with Thai wife

TAIPING: The body of a gardener was found in a pool of blood by a member of the public at Pengkalan Sungai Kerang, Padang Gajah near Trong yesterday.

Wong Chee Kheong, 43, was found with stab wounds to the head, cheeks and arm which he sustained during an attack by an assailant with a sharp weapon at about 9.35pm.

An initial investigation revealed that Wong is likely to have been attacked by a male suspect out of anger or jealousy for allegedly having an intimate relationship with his Thai wife.

The 43-year-old suspect is now on the run.

District Police chief ACP Harrith Kam Abdullah said the suspect and his Thai wife had lived in the same village as the victim – but both fled following the incident.

Without disclosing details, Harrith Kam said the suspect has a criminal record related to drugs. -- BERNAMA
