Perak police seeking murdered woman's family

PASIR SALAK: Police are looking for the next of kin of a murdered woman whose body was discovered washed up on the banks of the Kinta River near Matang Pelanduk Jetty on Jan 24.

Perak Tengah police chief Superintendent Hafezul Helmi Hamzah said they received information about the discovery of the body at 10.30pm.

"The woman was at least 135cm centimeters tall, a mole on the left eyelid, ear piercings on both sides of the earlobes, and several missing molars. The woman's age was determined to be between 30 and 40 years old," he said in a statement today.

Hafezul said that the case, initially classified as sudden death, had been reclassified under Section 302 of the Penal Code.

"The results of the autopsy conducted at the Forensic Unit of Hospital Teluk Intan revealed that the cause of death was due to various injuries caused by blunt objects," he said.

He urged the public with any information about the incident or the loss of a family member to contact the case investigator, Chief of the Criminal Investigation Division of Perak Tengah IPD, Assistant Superintendent Hamzanni Abdul Ghani, at 0195732880.
