Perak doctor charged with falsifying medical reports for drivers seeking licence renewal

IPOH: A general practitioner at a private clinic here was charged with two counts of cheating for falsifying medical check-up reports for patients who wanted to renew their vocational driving licenses.

Doctor S. Samuel Kumar, 59, had allegedly cheated the Road Transport Department (RTD) into renewing the licenses of Mohd Firdaues Azizan, 34 and Hasrol Hissam Osman, 41, by allegedly entering false information after carrying out mandatory health examinations on the duo on Feb 14 at Klinik Parit Buntar, Jalan Pasar Pekan Lama, Parit Buntar, between 10.15am and 3.40pm.

The accused pleaded not guilty to the charge under Section 415 of the Penal Code, read together with Section 28(1)(a) of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) Act 2009.

Judge S. Indra Nehru set June 14 for mention and granted RM12,000 bail with one surety.

Indra also ordered the accused to report to the nearest MACC office once a month.
