BUKIT MERTAJAM: The lifeless bodies of a couple were found today at an apartment in Bukit Tengah.
The deceased have been identified as Sim Hun Khong, 47, and Tan Soo Sim, 35.
According to their parents, they have been staying in the apartment together for five years and were planning to get married in the next few months.
Seberang Prai Tengah district police chief Assistant Commissioner Nik Ros Azhan Nik Abdul Hamid in a statement said a resident had alerted the police at about 3.50pm after suspecting something amiss.
“For now we have classified the case as sudden death but we will investigate further to identify the cause of death and to get a clearer picture on the incident,” he said.
Police have examined the scene but so far there were no signs of foul play.
