KUANTAN: An industrial training institute student was stabbed in the abdomen by two men in a robbery at Jalan Pintasan Pelabuhan-Kuantan in Gebeng near Balok, last night.
In the 9.30pm incident, the 23-year-old victim was walking alone to a food outlet when he was accosted by two men on a motorcycle.
It is learnt that one of the men began to ask for directions, before taking out a knife and demanding that the victim surrender his belongings. But the victim put up a fight and was stabbed.
One of the suspects then grabbed the wounded victim's mobile phone and wallet and both fled the scene.
“A passer-by found the victim covered in blood by the roadside and rushed him to the Tengku Ampuan Afzan Hospital (HTAA) in Kuantan,” said Kuantan police chief ACP Abdul Aziz Salleh.
He added that police are investigating the case and hunting the two suspects who are believed to be still in town. -- BERNAMA
