“Today, we continued our joint operation with TNB and cut electricity supply to eight illegal gambling premises in Timur Laut,” Penang Criminal Investigation Department chief Senior Assistant Commissioner Zainol Samah said.

He added that police have identified an additional 30 illegal gambling dens and will take similar action against them.

“The premises include 10 in Seberang Perai Tengah, one in Seberang Perai Selatan and three in Barat Daya district,” Zainol said in a statement today.

He said the action is in accordance with Section 21(A)a of the Common Gaming Houses Act 1953.
