KUCHING: A local businessman with a ‘Datuk’ title was found dead inside his office at Jalan Tun Ahmad Zaidi Adruce here today.
The 47-year-old businessman, whose identity was not immediately known, was found lying unconscious on the floor of his office by an employer at around 4pm.
The employee later alerted the hospital and a team of paramedics was rushed to the scene.
The paramedics declared the businessman dead at the scene.
“A forensics team arrived at the scene at about 6pm, to identify if there were any elements of foul play, which resulted to the man’s death.
“The body of the deceased was only removed from the scene and taken to the hospital here two hours later,” sources said.
Sarawak Criminal Investigation Department (CID) chief Datuk Dev Kumar confirmed the case, which has been classified as sudden death.
“Based on our initial investigation, the police found no indication of foul play related the case.
“The CID, however, will investigate the case from all possible angles,” he said.
