BESUT: A 29-year-old Uber driver was injured when he was attacked by three armed men near a petrol station in Seberang Jertih here today.
District police chief Superintendent Mohd Zamri Mohd Rowi said the victim's silver Kia Forte was also driven away by the suspects in the 3.15am incident.
He said the victim, identified as Ahmad Taufiq Che Daud @ Che Mud, was from Kampung Nipah Bachok, Kelantan.
"The victim. who was driving from Kuala Lumpur to Kelantan, was parking his car at the station to rest, when three men alighted from a yellow Perodua MyVi and attacked him with parangs.
"The victim suffered stab wounds on his forehead, head, right fingers and right arm.
"A passer-by sent the victim to the Besut Hospital for treatment before lodging a report at the Jertih police station at 6pm," he said.
Zamri said the case was being investigated under Section 394 of the Penal Code .
"We are now tracking down the culprits to assist the investigation into the case." he said.
