Bomb on nurse's car: Ex-boyfriend with electronics background nabbed; explosives found at Klang home

KLANG: Police this morning arrested a man in Taman Petaling Indah here for making and planting a bomb under a nurse's Proton Saga two days ago.

The 28-year-old suspect was identified as the nurse's former boyfriend, who admitted to police that he was quarrelling with the nurse over financial problems.

Selangor police Criminal Investigation Department chief Senior Assistant Commissioner Fadzil Ahmat said the man was arrested during a 3.30am raid at a house.

He said police checks at the house found several electronic items and explosive materials, believed to have been made from firecrackers, which the man likely used to make the bomb.

"The suspect is a former student of a private college, where he majored in electronics in 2006. He also previously worked as a salesman at an electrical company.

"He admitted to police that he is the nurse's ex-boyfriend and that they were having arguments over financial matters.

"However, police are still investigating to determine the motive," Fadzil said in a statement.

He added that the suspect, who has a previous criminal record for a drug offence and criminal intimidation, is being remanded for four days to facilitate the investigation.
