JELEBU: A housewife was charged at the Magistrate's Court here today with murdering her mother in Jempol, last month.
No plea was recorded from M Chinnammah, 52, from Ladang Bukit Pilah Rompin Jempol, after the charge was read out by a court interpreter before Magistrate Mohamad Redza Azhar Rezali.
Chinnamah was accused of murdering M Pichai, 70, at No 2 Pekan Jelai, Bahau, Jempol, between 11.30am to 5.20pm on June 30.
The accused was charged under Section 302 of the Penal Code, which carries a mandatory death sentence if convicted.
Deputy Public Prosecutor Wan Ahmad Hijrah Wan Abdullah prosecuted while the accused was unrepresented.
The court has set August 22 for re-mention.
