JOHOR BARU: A woman was found in a pool of blood with her throat slashed , believed by her son, in the kitchen of her house at Jalan Cempaka, Taman Air Bemban, near Kulai, here today.
The body of the 69-year-old woman was found at about 11 am by her youngest son, who arrived home after returning from work in Singapore, and then lodged a police report.
Kulai district police chief Supt Razak Md Said confirmed the incident and that police had detained a 30-year-old man in the compound of the victim’s house a few hours later.
“Following investigation, it is found that the suspect had a history of mental illness and had been treated at the Tampoi Hospital in Johor Bahru,” he said in a statement issued here today.
