Two men detained over Molotov cocktail attack on Kota Damansara nightclub

KUALA LUMPUR: Police have arrested two men believed to be involved in a Molotov cocktail attack at a nightclub in Kota Damansara on Monday.

Petaling Jaya police chief Assistant Commissioner Mohd Zani Che Din said the two men, both in their 30s, were arrested at 5.30pm yesterday in the district.

"They are being remanded until Friday to facilitate investigations," he said.

In the 4.15pm incident on Monday, a nightclub worker, only known as Sujan, 30, from Bangladesh, sustained burns to his head and hands when two men in threw two Molotov cocktails tied with firecrackers at the night club at the Encorp Strand Garden Office.

Zani said the attack was related to an extortion involving business matters. He ruled out a terrorist attack.

Zani said the night club owner had told police that before the incident, he had been threatened by a gangster who demanded protection money.
