Father-daughter drug pushers among 4 nabbed in Pulau Perhentian

BESUT: Police arrested a 30-year-old woman and her father on Pulau Perhentian on Sunday and Monday separately for suspected drug trafficking.

District police chief Superintendent Mohd Zamri Mohd Rowi said the unemployed woman was nabbed at a burger stall in Pasir Panjang, Pulau Perhentian on Monday.

Police seized a plastic packet filled with 50 stimulant pills and 16 straws of whitish powder believed to be drugs in the 12pm raid.

He said the woman, who has a previous drug record, was taken to Kampung Raja police station for further investigation. She was later tested positive for methamphetamine.

A day earlier, her father, a 55-year-old man from Kampung Gertak Seratus in Kuala Besut was arrested along with two other men, aged 34 and 16, at a burger stall on the same island.

Zamri said a team from the Besut police station surrounded the stall before arresting the men who were high on drugs in the 4pm raid.

"Our men seized 45 stimulant pills and a vial of heroin from the 55-year-old suspect, all of them were taken to the Besut police station for further probe," he added.

Both cases were being investigated under Section 39A(1) of the Drug Dangerous Act 1952 for drug trafficking.
