JEMPOL: A Form Three student gave birth to a baby girl at a school's surau in Bandar Baru Serting, Jempol, here, today.
Jempol acting police chief Superintendent Azham Shah Azlan said police received a call from the school at 10.30am after the15-year-old girl was found unconscious in the surau.
"A policeman then went to the location and found the student lying with a baby girl on her chest.
"The student is believed to have given birth to a baby before she was found, and then sent to Jempol Hospital for further treatment," he said when contacted today.
He said, early investigation had led to the arrest of a 16-year-old male student to assist in the investigation.
He said the case is being investigated under Section 376 of the Penal Code.
